If you’re a creative Senior UX Designer, read on. If you feel you can take our award-winning team even higher, you’re getting closer. This is us: Toyota Material Handling Design Center (

The job is to start with a big one. It actually involves the entire design process; from concept studies for the future, to creating design for our production. You’ll be working hand-in-glove with R&D, product management, and marketing. But also with our factories in both Mjölby and Bologna, plus Logistics Solutions in Gothenburg.

As Senior UX Designer you’ll be working cross-functionally with colleagues, on user cases and critical touch points. Your challenge will be to deliver meaningful new user interfaces, both on-board and off-board.

You’ll primarily be working with our European product range and digital services, in cutting-edge areas such as automation and connectivity.

Are you with us so far? Then consider whether your profile fits this. You’re creative, as we said, but also driven and open-minded. Design is simply your passion. It’s obviously a plus if you’ve got experience in automotive and/or industrial vehicle design.

Here are a bit of what we are looking for:

  • A minimum of 5 years of documented experience in interaction, or design-related creative environments (automotive is, as we said, a merit).
  • A degree in Interaction Design, or related design science discipline.
  • Knowledge of interaction-design patterns and their application in a variety of contexts (vehicle, mobile, web etc).
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of driving and applying user-centred design processes, while working collaboratively with customers and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in a variety of techniques to convey ideas and concepts (such as storyboards, wireframes, prototypes etc).
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to work from a blank slate, and to inspire others.
  • Proficiency in handling design and prototyping tools, such as Adobe, Invision, Flinto etc).
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written).

Also, might we add that a holistic understanding of social and human behaviour needs for the future, as well as brand design strategies – is a must.

Toyota is a global company that keeps evolving. You’ll be an important player in the creation of new products that will take us further. We may be a small design studio, but have nevertheless made a name for ourselves. With us, you can count on both professional and personal development.
